I have never claimed exclusive access to previously unpublished police reports as the Amazon product description states - that was an error by an over enthusiastic publishers assistant! I do however name a brand new suspect and - I believe - I have made a convincing case for naming him. I pride myself on doing a thorough job of research on every book I write and making the text entertaining and informative. The book has a good balance of historical source material (some of which will not be familiar to the general reader such as the Crowley connection) and I have made short shrift of some of the more preposterous claims (the Royal Conspiracy, Sickert etc).

This project fulfilled another burning ambition - to have my say on every album that I liked and some that I didn't (but which the publisher wanted covered). It was a major headache at the time (100,000 words being the equivalent of two books) and I was looking after my two young children at the same time. But the jokes are good and my writing was improving considerably by this time.
